🏅Three (Off-Field) College Sports Predictions for 2025

Looking into the crystal ball...

Hey there,

2024 is old news. Now, we’re looking ahead to what’s shaping up to become one of the most exciting years ever for college sports – 2025 is expected to be even more jam packed than 2024.

That’s why today we’re starting a two-part series on our predictions for the new year in college sports. This edition will be all about the off-field predictions. Next edition will have all our on-field predictions. Then, at the end of the year, we’ll return to these predictions and see which ones came true.

This story is for All Access subscribers. Not part of the team? Become a new you in 2025 by signing up here. This will be the year you become a college sports expert – don’t miss out!

If you’re new to the whole All-Access thing, we’re pretty big fans of predictions. There were some things we saw coming in 2024 concerning college sports – the transfer portal, for example, seemed headed for a shakeup ever since late 2023. It made sense to anyone following the issue closely that the portal would become a massive issue in 2024, and sure enough, it did.

But then there were some things that no one could have seen coming. The House Settlement, for example: We knew there would be some legal news out of the case, but we could have never expected this sort of settlement – one that would alter the fabric of college sports forever after.

Anyhow, with the new year now upon us, we thought it may be fun to give a few predictions for college sports in 2025. This edition will be all about the off-field predictions – that means everything relating to the business and legal world of college sports. Next edition, it’ll be the on-field/court predictions – that’s how the sports themselves will change in 2025.

Ready? Let’s get into it.
