🏅NIL isn’t impacting most schools’ institutional funding. Why?

Here's why NIL hasn't made a dent in athletics budgets... yet.

Hey there,

One of the biggest concerns at the advent of NIL was that it would suck up all the money. So long to those ever-beautiful locker room renovations, stadium upgrades, and training facilities – in the new era, NIL was going to be the only thing that boosters and fans would be donating to. Or so we thought.

A few years into NIL, and that narrative couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, some athletic departments are actually better off financially than they were before NIL. It really begs the question… Where did all this extra money come from? Why isn’t NIL affecting institutional donations? That’s what we’re looking at today.

This story is for All-Access subscribers — which could be you. Do yourself a favor and just check out the plans here — there’s an option for everyone. It costs very little to become the smartest fan in your office, plus it also supports our work here at NIL Wire. Join the team today!
