š Trump and College Sports Part 1: Immigration & NIL
Hey there,
Alright, has the dust settled just yet? Donald Trump was re-elected to the White House on November 5th, which does in fact influence the state of college sports. Over the next few editions, weāre going to talk through what exactly that might look like.
Now, I know this is a precarious topic. Itās never easy to mix politics and sports ā and in fact, we donāt exactly like to do it. However, if weāre going to talk about the future of college sports, the reality is that Trumpās administration will indeed have a hand in that future. His administrationās policy positions will change the college sports worldā¦ especially as we approach a chokepoint for a series of issues.
Weāre going to talk about those issues ā today, starting with how Trumpās immigration policy might affect NIL and college sports as a whole. Hopefully, we can put our biases aside here and cut through to whatās really going to change ā no partisan narratives or anything like that. Just college sports fans talking about college sports. Sound good? Good.
