šŸ…Trump and College Sports Part 1: Immigration & NIL

Hey there,

Alright, has the dust settled just yet? Donald Trump was re-elected to the White House on November 5th, which does in fact influence the state of college sports. Over the next few editions, weā€™re going to talk through what exactly that might look like.

Now, I know this is a precarious topic. Itā€™s never easy to mix politics and sports ā€“ and in fact, we donā€™t exactly like to do it. However, if weā€™re going to talk about the future of college sports, the reality is that Trumpā€™s administration will indeed have a hand in that future. His administrationā€™s policy positions will change the college sports worldā€¦ especially as we approach a chokepoint for a series of issues.

Weā€™re going to talk about those issues ā€“ today, starting with how Trumpā€™s immigration policy might affect NIL and college sports as a whole. Hopefully, we can put our biases aside here and cut through to whatā€™s really going to change ā€“ no partisan narratives or anything like that. Just college sports fans talking about college sports. Sound good? Good.
