🏅Trump and College Sports Part 1: Immigration & NIL

Hey there,

Alright, has the dust settled just yet? Donald Trump was re-elected to the White House on November 5th, which does in fact influence the state of college sports. Over the next few editions, we’re going to talk through what exactly that might look like.

Now, I know this is a precarious topic. It’s never easy to mix politics and sports – and in fact, we don’t exactly like to do it. However, if we’re going to talk about the future of college sports, the reality is that Trump’s administration will indeed have a hand in that future. His administration’s policy positions will change the college sports world… especially as we approach a chokepoint for a series of issues.

We’re going to talk about those issues – today, starting with how Trump’s immigration policy might affect NIL and college sports as a whole. Hopefully, we can put our biases aside here and cut through to what’s really going to change – no partisan narratives or anything like that. Just college sports fans talking about college sports. Sound good? Good.
