Hey there,

We’ve got a Red River standoff in today’s edition. Texas and Oklahoma are competing for a commitment from the #1 women’s hooper in the country, and she’s using it to her advantage. Then we’re also talking about the new ACC settlement, and what “tiered rev-sharing” even means. Lastly, Oklahoma’s replacing their spring football game with a… combine? It’s all coming up now – let’s get into it.

Did you see our All Access story yesterday about whether Nick Saban would be a good choice for commissioner of college football? If not, check it out here.

The Big 3

Red River Rivals Fight Over #1 WBB Recruit

The #1 women’s basketball recruit in the nation knows how to drum up a bidding war. Aaliyah Chavez is currently deciding between two schools who, it just so happens, absolutely hate each other: Texas and Oklahoma.

It doesn’t stop there, though. Chavez’s NIL asking price is currently around $1.5 million, which would break all sorts of records in terms of pure roster value. Sure, some women’s hoopers have made more when accounting for endorsement deals… but the NIL money we’re talking about here would be for strictly hooping.

Don’t be surprised if strategy becomes commonplace in the near future. By pitting Texas and Oklahoma against each other for her commitment, Chavez is leveraging the two school’s pride as well as hatred for their bitter rival. That can really only mean more money for her if a bidding war emerges. (More)

The ACC has a New Revenue Distribution Model

The lawsuit between Florida State, Clemson, and the NCAA was finally resolved last week after months of litigation. The settlement they came to will keep the two schools in the ACC, and in return, the conference’s revenue distribution model is changing.

Here’s how: Before, each member of the conference was paid the same amount of money, which leveled all the TV revenues out across every program. Now, the revenue distributions will be tiered, paying out the most money to the schools who brought in the most viewers.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that FSU and Clemson are in the ACC for good, though. The financial penalty for leaving the conference will drop significantly after 2030, opening a pathway for further realignment in a half-decade. (More)

Oklahoma Replaces Spring Game with a Combine

Speaking of Oklahoma, they’re the latest program to cancel their spring football game. But instead of simply calling it quits, the Sooners are trying to replace lost revenue (and perhaps fan excitement) with another activity: the “Crimson Combine.”

“This is a brand-new spring football tradition for our fans,” said Oklahoma athletics director Joe Castiglione, “Crimson Combine will spotlight our players while also giving our fans the ability to get closer to the action…We're planning some unique activities that will highlight our players and provide high entertainment value for everyone in attendance.”

I’m guessing that this “combine” won’t actually be a combine, because if it were, it’d still give valuable information to rival teams that may want to poach OU’s players… which is why they ended the spring football game in the first place. My guess? Some silly games and a small attendance fee that goes directly into the NIL fund. (More)

When you experience pain, it’s typically the result of electrical signals being sent from the location of the pain to your brain.

The worse the pain, the stronger the signal.

Kailo’s patented technology uses micro capacitors to “turn off” these pain signals like a light switch – providing natural relief, anywhere on your body, in seconds.

It’s one of the first products on the market to use microtechnology for pain relief, and it’s available at an affordable price.

Stick it on your knee, back, neck—wherever you’re experiencing pain.
