🏅How to claim House Settlement money: A step-by-step guide
Let's make money moves
Hey there,
This edition is going to be less of a story and more of an explainer – a helpful one, hopefully, if you’re a student-athlete. Today, we’re going to walk you through every step of claiming your money in the House Settlement – from determining eligibility to submitting a claim, as well as everything in between.
What we talk about today could net you thousands or even millions of dollars in compensation if you’re a student-athlete.
If you’re the parent of an athlete, work in an athletic department, or are just curious about how this works, this edition will still be immensely important, too – we’ll take you behind the scenes of how student-athletes themselves are trying to get compensation. Maybe share NIL Wire with the athlete in your life – it could help them submit a claim!
If you’re not an All-Access subscriber, good news: In light of this very important edition, we’re running a 25% off discount on All-Access subscriptions until the end of the day. It’s going to be gone quick — so make sure you join the team by clicking here!

The House settlement is finally here, and the claims period is now open. Let’s not beat around the bush here – we want to walk you through the process of submitting a House or Hubbard claim, step by step.
Before we get started with the steps, there’s some things to keep in mind.
By claiming money in the House Settlement, student-athletes are functionally waiving their right to take further legal action on the NCAA for lost NIL wages. In other words, if an athlete is getting in on House or Hubbard cash, it will be hard for them to get in on any other potential legal challenges that may come down the road.
Now, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do this if you’re a student athlete. Instead, do some research into exactly what’s getting paid back. If you can, really try to seek legal counsel to help make this sort of decision, too. Here at NIL Wire, we’re not legal experts – we’re just here to help streamline the process and give you as many resources as possible.
Ready? Let’s get into it.
