🏅Army, Navy, and NIL
Hey there,
Happy Saturday, and thanks for starting it with NIL Wire. We’ve got a packed edition for you today: First, how are service academies staying competitive in the college football world without NIL? What’s different about LSU’s NIL mogul Livvy Dunne’s latest business venture? And could NIL marketing effect the 2024 election? It’s all coming up right now – stay tuned!

The Big 3
Army, Navy, and NIL
Through seven weeks of college football, Army and Navy are a combined 13-1. This is despite the fact that neither school is actually allowed to use NIL, and there’s only two transfer students between the two schools.
“What you’re seeing with us and Army is a reflection of developmental programs with players that are selfless, play for each other, play for a team, play for a country,” Navy coach Brian Newberry explained, “It’s a challenge — not saying you can’t do it — to create a really strong culture in this day and age with the rosters being flipped semester to semester.”
Maybe there’s something to that continuity. The road may be a bit harder for Navy, but Army currently has a 23% chance to make the College Football Playoff this season without a dime of NIL help. (More)
Swing States Getting Hit with Heavy NIL Spending
As the 2024 Election approaches, student-athletes are getting paid NIL dollars to energize young people toward the voting booth. That’s right – political advocacy groups are spending real NIL dollars in critical states in hopes of swinging the election.
The organization behind this is NextGen America, a progressive advocacy group focusing on youth. On the backs of a $750,000 donation from another group, NextGen has been paying student-athletes to make videos like this to drive voter turnout:
“College athletes are powerful, impactful leaders and we are proud to work with these young changemakers,” said the group’s President. While the group has policy positions, this particular NIL campaign has centered around voting itself instead of policy. (More)
Livvy Dunne Joins Forces with Jake Paul
Livvy Dunne is back in her business dealmaking bag – this time becoming co-owners of W, a men’s care brand founded by Youtuber and professional boxer Jake Paul. Part of that partnership, of course, means repping the product for ad campaigns.
It’s not the first time she’s done something like this – Dunne’s enjoyed a mutually beneficial NIL partnership with brands like American Eagle, Nautica, and Vouri in the past. But, as far as we’re concerned, this is the first time she’s become a “co-owner” of one of the brands she reps.
“Seeing how passionate [Jake Paul] was in person really made me want to work with him,” Dunne said about her business partner, “I know he grew up as an influencer and has always been in the spotlight, but he’s truly proven himself in other areas and shown that you can be successful beyond just being an influencer.” (More)

When you experience pain, it’s typically the result of electrical signals being sent from the location of the pain to your brain.
The worse the pain, the stronger the signal.
Kailo’s patented technology uses micro capacitors to “turn off” these pain signals like a light switch – providing natural relief, anywhere on your body, in seconds.
It’s one of the first products on the market to use microtechnology for pain relief, and it’s available at an affordable price.
Stick it on your knee, back, neck—wherever you’re experiencing pain.
